PEPPER MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS

World - Pepper prices in September 2022 show a mixed response with only China white pepper reported with an increase. |

IPC Price Index and Composite Price - The price index of pepper recorded a decreasing trend as price index of black pepper was reported
with a significant drop by 7.5% to 48.17 points while price index of white pepper recorded a much slighter decrease of 1.2% to 53.80 points.
Similarly, the composite price of black pepper recorded a USD 289 per Mt dip at USD 3,583 per Mt while composite price index of white pepper reported
to loss USD 69 per Mt at USD 5,567 per Mt.

India - Although the Indian Rupee weakened against the US Dollar (INR 80.24 @ 1 USD), recording a 1% depreciation,
pepper price for India reported stable this month.

Indonesia - Black pepper price for Indonesia recorded negative this month.
Whilst, White pepper price for Indonesia reported stable as exports continued to be reported less as lack of stock in farmer\'s level.

Malaysia - As the Malaysian Ringgit weakened against the US Dollar (MYR 4.54 @ 1 USD),
recording 2% depreciation, local prices for Malaysia continued to be reported negative for the last three (3) months.
Whilst, the International price continued to be reported stable and unchanged.

Sri Lanka - After reported with an increasing trend for the last two (2) months,
Sri Lankan pepper price responded negatively this month.

Viet Nam - Both local and international prices for Viet Nam reported with a decreasing trend this month
due to the weakening of the Viet Nam Dong against the US Dollar (VND 23,681 @ 1 USD), recorded 1% depreciation.
Furthermore, Pepper exports were forecasted to continue facing numerous difficulties as global pepper prices continue
to drop due to reduced demand from many countries, especially demand from China.

US - The USA market was reported unstable which could be contributed to world inflation.
