PEPPER MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS

World - Pepper prices in November 2022 showed a negative outlook with no origins reported an increasing trend. |

IPC Price Index and Composite Price - IPC Pepper Price Index reported with mixed response as price index of black pepper recorded an increase by 1.6% to 43.85 points
while price index of white pepper reported with a decrease of 2.4% to 50.91 points. Likewise, composite price of black and white pepper also reported with mixed response.
Composite price of black pepper recorded a USD 52 per Mt increase and reported at USD 3,262 per Mt. Whilst, composite price of white pepper experienced a loss of USD 131 per Mt and reported at USD 5,268 per Mt.

India - Even though the Indian Rupee strengthened against the US Dollar (INR 81.63 @ 1 USD),
recording a 1% appreciation, pepper price for India continued to be reported with a decreasing trend.
In addition, Trade sources attributed the price fall to the rising imports and other circumstances.

Indonesia - Pepper price for Indonesia reported with a decreasing trend since last month,
which partially contributed to the weakening of Indonesian Rupiah against the US Dollar (IDR 15,665 @ 1 USD),
recording a 1% depreciation. Furthermore, some exporters had to trade using their reserve stock as it was hard to find on farmer level.

Malaysia - Malaysian local price continued to be reported negative this month.
Whilst, Malaysian international price reported stable and unchanged. Furthermore, Sarawak\'s pepper industry accounted for 90% of the Malaysian pepper industry\'s contribution
to the national GDP in 2021.In the 3rd quarter of 2022, Sarawak’s pepper’s export value increased by RM 34,5 Million compared to the same period in 2021.

Sri Lanka - Sri Lankan pepper price responded negative this month. |

Viet Nam - Only Viet Nam international black pepper reported stable this month.
Whilst, the others continued to be reported with a decreasing trend for the last three (3) months which partially contributed
to the weakening of the Viet Nam Dong against the US Dollar (VND 24,857 @ 1 USD), recording 2% depreciation.

US - The US market prices reported with less buying activity than normal year.
Furthermore, higher bank\'s rate and other global dynamic contributed to the slow market. |
