PEPPER MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS

World - Pepper prices in October continued to show a mix response with only Malaysian local black pepper price reported with an increase. |

IPC Price Index and Composite Price – IPC Price Index for the month of October reported with a decreasing trend as Price Index of black pepper reported at 49.49 points,
recording a decrease by 2.2% while Price Index of white pepper similarly decreasing albeit marginally less to the 54.10 points or 1.2%. Composite price of black pepper recorded at US$ 3,681 per Mt, losing US$ 84 per Mt.
Whilst , composite price of white pepper reported at US$ 5,598 per Mt, losing US$ 67 per Mt. Viet Nam total export up to the 10th Month of 2023 has reached 96% of the total export of Viet Nam in 2022. |

India - After reported with an increasing trend for the last four (4) months, the Indian pepper price reported with a decreasing trend this month. |

|
Indonesia - As the Indonesian Rupiah weakened against the US Dollar (IDR 15,760 @ 1 USD) or 2% depreciation, both local and international price for Indonesian pepper reported
with a decreasing trend this month as some areas still experienced a long summer thus some farmer had yet to fertilize their plants. |

Malaysia - Only Malaysian local black pepper price reported with an increasing trend this month. Whilst, the others continued to be reported stable and unchanged. |

Sri Lanka - After reported with an increasing trend for the last two (2) months, local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported with a decreasing trend this month which partially contributed
to the weakening of Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar (LKR 324.73 @ 1 USD) or 1% depreciation. |

Viet Nam - Only Vietnamese local black pepper price reported with a decreasing trend this month. Whilst, the others remained stable
and unchanged as the Viet Nam domestic market reported stable. |

|
US - Pepper prices in the US market was reported unstable from the origins with its local currency being the contributing factors.
