President Maithripala Sirisena presented the IPC Awards 2016.
"The IPC award was initiated at the 38th Session of the IPC held in Cochin, India during November 2010 and the first series of the IPC Awards was given to the best Pepper Farmers, Exporters of Value Added Pepper Products and Innovative Pepper Products Manufacturers in 2011
The objective of the programme is to recognize and promote the best farmers, exporters and innovative manufacturers so as to encourage and supports the stake holders to empower the local traders exporters to perform better in the years to come. The IPC Award is also to provide the winners with the opportunity to have public recognition which at the end will further help them gain more success in the domestics and international markets.
The President Maithripala Sirisena has kindly handed over the IPC Awards 2016 to the winners during the Inaugural Session of the 45th Session of IPC on 30th October 2017 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
The President presented IPC Award Certificates and Plaques to the winners of the IPC awards under three categories namely Best Pepper Farmers, Excellence in Export of Value Added Pepper Products and Excellence in Innovative Pepper Products Manufacturers in 2016. The name of the IPC Awards winners for 2016 are :
