Strategic Conversations, Shared Futures: IPC Welcomes Delegation from China

On 24 June 2025, the IPC Secretariat in Jakarta had the honour of receiving a distinguished delegation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, led by Mr. Wu Zhiwei, Economic and Commercial Counsellor, and Mr. Geng Jianzhong, First Secretary from the Economic and Commercial Office.
Hosted by IPC Executive Director Ms. Marina Novira Anggraini, the visit opened space for a warm and constructive dialogue on the current state of the global pepper industry, including developments within China’s domestic pepper sector.

The discussion touched on shared challenges and opportunities within the global pepper landscape. With sincere appreciation for China’s growing role in the industry, IPC conveyed the potential value of China’s participation in the Community, framing it within a broader vision of inclusive cooperation and collective resilience. The conversation reflected IPC’s commitment to thoughtful, technical, and respectful engagement in the spirit of long-term partnership.
Mr. Wu expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and shared that the conversation would be relayed to the relevant ministry in Beijing for further consideration.

As the world of spices continues to evolve, IPC remains committed to building meaningful connections that empower producers, foster market stability, and amplify a shared voice across borders.
One Community. One Voice. Stronger Together.
