IPC-UBB Collaboraton: Nurturing the Future of Pepper

Sometimes, progress begins with a simple meeting of minds, where different perspectives come together, and a shared vision starts to take shape.
On 25 November 2025, this spirit unfolded as the International Pepper Community (IPC) and the University of Bangka Belitung (UBB) formalized a new chapter of cooperation. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Marina Novira Anggraini, Executive Director of IPC, and Prof. Dr. Ibrahim, M.Si., Rector of UBB, witnessed by Dr. Hamsani, SE, M.Sc., and Mr. Erwin Krisna Winata, STP, M.Si.

The collaboration strengthens IPC’s growing academic network, building on the earlier partnership with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in January 2025, and expands opportunities for research, innovation, and capacity development across pepper-producing regions.
After the signing, the conversation continued in a lively public lecture where students, academics, and regional stakeholders gathered to exchange ideas. Discussions explored how stronger institutional synergy can accelerate the development of the pepper sector; how identity and branding play a role in elevating pepper origins globally; and how regional initiatives can drive resilience and growth across the value chain.

Under the theme Innovation, Research, and Sustainable Development for the Future of Pepper, the dialogue highlighted a shared belief: that the future of the pepper community will be shaped by those who are curious, collaborative, and ready to innovate.
IPC extends sincere appreciation to UBB, the provincial government, academics, and students for the warm exchange and their thoughtful contributions. Together, we continue nurturing progress for the global pepper community.
