On 25 February 2026, the IPC, led by Executive Director Ms. Marina N. Anggraini, held a high-level virtual consultation with the Bureau of Trade in Goods, Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, represented by Executive Director Mr. Chirath Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya.
The discussion moved beyond formalities into a substantive exchange on the realities shaping today’s global pepper landscape, price movements, sustainability pressures, and the evolving trade environment.
A meaningful part of the dialogue revisited Thailand’s historical association with IPC. As a member from 1993 to 2000, Thailand has been part of the Community’s institutional journey. The conversation explored possibilities for renewed engagement, reflecting a forward-looking perspective and a shared interest in strengthening regional cooperation within the global marketplace.
The meeting also identified potential areas for technical exchange and capacity-building initiatives to support smallholder farmers and promote sustainable trade practices.
IPC remains committed to inclusive and balanced partnerships that contribute to a resilient and transparent global pepper economy. Constructive dialogue continues to be the foundation for lasting cooperation.
