The IPC Special Session held on 09th - 10th January 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia
The International Pepper Community organized a Special Session on 09th-10th January 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia which was attended by Heads of Delegates/plenipotentiary representatives and other officials from the IPC member countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam. The Special Session was chaired by Mr. Bandula Wickramaraachi, the Chairman of the IPC who is also the Secretary of the Ministry of Primary Industry, Government of Sri Lanka.
The Special Session considered important issues related to review of the Agreement Establishing the International Pepper Community, Rules of Procedures of the IPC and other related regulations; membership of the IPC; application for associate membership from the Philippines etc.

The Special Session further ratified the appointment of Mdm. Hoang Thi Lien of Viet Nam as the new Executive Director of the International Pepper Community who is successor of Mr. WDL Gunaratne of Sri Lanka. The Special Session also decided that the Government of Malaysia will be invited to nominate the candidates for Economist.
