IPC Cooperation with Indian Institute of Spice Research
Kozhikode - Kerala, India became one of the destinations visited by the Executive Director of The International Pepper Community, Mrs. Hoang Thi Lien after attending the International Spice Conference 2019 in Hyderabad, India. During her stays in Kozhikode, she managed to visit and have a meeting with Indian Institute of Spice Research as well as the Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development. In this meeting held on the 4th February 2019 in IISR office, Mrs. Lien was received by Dr. Nirmal Babu the Director of IISR, Dr. Homey Cheriyan the Director of DASD and Dr. Santosh J. Eapen the Head of Crop Protection Division of IISR. The fruitful meeting discussed the IPC AISEF Farmers App development/update and also elaborated IPC work programmes in collaboration with IISR and DASD. The meeting led to an agreement of joint-work between IPC and IISR in updating and revising the IPC Books, in addition to enhancing the IPC and IISR cooperation in terms of Research and Development activities on Pepper.
