THEME:
Evolution of the Pepper Industry: Expanding the Global Consumption through its Value-Add Products and Innovation
The global pepper industry has been evolved for the past 50 years under the purview of the International Pepper Community. Since its establishment, the IPC has been working closely and progressively with all member countries on how to ensure the industry stays relevant and pepper has increasingly become one of the important commodities in the world trade economic.
As one of the ways to offset the gap between the global pepper demand and supply is by increasing the global pepper consumption across the world. Essentially, in order to stay competitive in the market, the industry ought to increase the capacity of pepper as a value-added product instead of only processing it as whole and ground. Not only for food, pepper also has been used for condiments, therapeutical/health benefits and even the fashion world. However, the value-added products and pepper innovation are barely touched upon by the industry.
As such, when we talk about the evolution of the pepper industry, we want to know more what it can offers to the world. By exploiting more of other usages of the pepper instead of only its raw form, it would potentially increase the global consumption of pepper. Let’s use this opportunity to learn together the knowledge, expertise and experience from companies and governmental agencies which have pioneered in enhancing the value addition and innovation of pepper.

Stay tune for the announcement of the Winner for IPC50 Logo Design and Photography Competition as well as the launching of the new logo of IPC50 during the IPC50 webinar!
