Mr. Iman Pambagyo, Director General of International Trade Negotiations, Republic of Indonesia and the Chairman of IPC for 2015-2016
Mr. Iman Pambagyo has been appointed as the Director General of International Trade Cooperation, Ministry of Trade, Government of Indonesia. Mr. Pambagyo took over the post of Director General from Mr. Bachrul Chairi.

Chairman of IPC (2015-2016)
Mr. Iman Pambagyo graduated from the International Relations FISIPOL-UGM (Gajah Mada University, one of well-established state university) in 1986 and went on to obtain a masters in International Politics from McMaster University, Ontario-Canada in 1996. Having been appointed into the Indonesian Ministry of Trade since 2005, he holds a vast array of knowledge in trade issues: ASEAN, ASEAN+1 FTAs, ASEAN+3, ASEAN+6, BIMP-EAGA, IMT-GT, ASEM, IORACC and other regional cooperation except APEC.
His major assignments included the Alternate Lead of Indonesian Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM), ASEAN, as well as the Indonesian Lead for ASEAN-China FTA Joint Committee, ASEAN-Korea FTA Implementing Committee, ASEAN-Japan FTA Joint Committee, ASEAN-CER Joint Committee, and ASEAN-India Joint Committee.
He is also the Chair of Indonesian National AFTA Unit, the ASEAN Co-Chair of Senior Officials for ASEAN-US Trade and Investment Framework Arrangement, and the ASEAN Co-Chair of Senior Officials for ASEAN-Canada Consultations.
Prior to his appointment as the Director General, Mr. Iman Pambagyo was the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to WTO based in Geneva from August 2014.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bachrul Chairi, the former Director General has been appointed as the Head of Commodity Future Trading Regulatory Agency (COFTRA) / BAPPEBTI, an agency under the Ministry of Trade.
The IPC Secretariat would like to congratulate Mr. Iman Pambagyo on his appointment as the Director General of International Trade Negotiation and welcome him as our Chairman of the IPC.
