MARD TO HOST THE 42ND ANNUAL SESSION AND MEETINGS OF IPC IN HCM CITY, VIETNNAM
(IPC Jakarta: 14/08/2014) Vietnam the world largest pepper producing and exporting countries will be hosting the 42nd Annual Session and Meetings of the International Pepper Community at the Sheraton Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 27th - 30th October 2014.
The events are hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the Session and Meetings of IPC are being organized jointly by the MARD, Vietnam Pepper Association and International Pepper Community, Jakarta.
This year Global Pepper Conference will be attended by officials, scientists, exporters associations/commodity boards of the IPC member countries, exporters of pepper and spices as well as Spice trade Associations- representatives, importers, spice grinders / processors of the consuming countries, representatives from UN organizations like FAO etc.

The IPC is an international organization of pepper producing countries comprising of Brazil, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam, based in Jakarta, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea as an Associate member. The Current Chairman of the IPC is Mr. Tran Kim Long, who is also the Director General of International Cooperation Department of MARD.
Vietnam joined the IPC as full member in 2005. Vietnam which has been emerged as the largest pepper producer and exporter during few decade and has also recorded the highest in the productivity, with an average of over two MT of processed pepper per Ha per year. Vietnam is estimated to have produced around 122,000 MT of pepper during 2013. Export of pepper from Vietnam during 2013 is reported to be at 134,442 MT valued at USD 899 million, the highest achieved among exporting countries so far.
