PEPPER DAY 2014 IN MALAYSIA
The PEPPER DAY 2014 was held at AEON Mall Kulaijaya, Johor from 23rd to 25th May 2014. The programme was attended by the more than 1,000 participants from west Malaysia and Singapore.
The opening ceremony held on the second day, 24th May 2014 was officiated by the Honourable Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC), Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas. The Executive Director of the IPC Mr. S. Kannan took part in the event and actively participated in the programs. During the visit he has also discussed on the forthcoming visit of the Honourable Minister to Cochin, India, by the end of June 2014.
The highlight of the programme was the launching of the Bio-Chemical Fertilizer and BBQ Sauce from Perusahaan Azharazad. Other activities during PEPPER DAY in Malaysia were exhibition and sales by entrepreneurs selling pepper and pepper based products, junior chef competition, celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, pepper quiz, dialogue session with pepper farmers and also distribution of fresh pepper cuttings to the public.
