MR. TRAN KIM LONG OF VIETNAM IS THE CHAIRMAN OF IPC FOR 2013/2014
The International Pepper Community is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Tran Kim Long, Director General of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Government of Vietnam, as the Chairman of the International Pepper Community.
Mr. Tran Kim Long assumed the office of the Chairman of the IPC from Datin Nurmala Abd. Rahim of Malaysia, who was the Chairperson of the IPC for the period of 2012/2013.
Mr. Tran educated in TU Dresden, Germany and M.Sc. graduate in Tropical Forestry and Management. He also speaks fluently Germany besides other official languages. Mr. Tran has more than 30 years of working experience in wood processing enterprise, central forest Seed Company, part-time consultant to NGOs, management board for forestry foreign aided projects and in the Department for International Cooperation, MARD dealing with state management function, including ODA projects management of both loan and grant aid projects, NGOs cooperation activities.
During the period of 1979 - 2000 he was mainly work in the field of forestry and he was also the Management Board for Forestry Foreign Aided Projects from 1999 - 2000. Since the year 2000, Mr. Tran Kim Long was shifted to the International Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Government of Vietnam.
Mr. Tran Kim Long is currently the Director General of the International Cooperation Division under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. His principal areas of responsibilities are on the Development economics; participatory monitoring and evaluation; rural area development, project implementation and management, institutional and policy development, project planning and training.
Mr. Tran Kim Long was born on 29th July 1959 and is married with two children.
The IPC welcomes and congratulates Mr. Tran Kim Long on his appointment as Chairman of the IPC for the year of 2013/2014 to make the pepper industry to become more vibrant and active.
The IPC also wishes to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to the outgoing IPC Chairperson, Datin Paduka Nurmala Abd. Rahim for her able guidance and outstanding support towards the overall development of the global pepper industry during her chairmanship.
