Inviting Expression Of Interest (EOI) to participate in the IPC Farmer's App
from organisations involved in field level activities for crop development.
Background:
With an objective of making pepper farmers more profitable through reduced input costs, better yields, etc., IPC plans to launch a mobile app for pepper farmers in all member countries of IPC.
Qualification:
Organisations native to the country but having supporting of farmers in their agricultural operations as one of their key objectives only need to apply. Applicant should be a "not for profit organisation". Applicant should have budgetary allocation for supporting pepper farmers in their cultivational activities. Applicant should have at least 5 years experiences in spices related activities.
Responsibilities of the Applicant:
- The engagement with IPC will be on a continuous basis unless either of the party communicates at least 3 months in advance about their desire to end the engagement.
- Minimum period of engagement - One year
Activities:
- Disseminate information about the App among pepper farmers in key growing regions in the country. All costs are to the applicant's account.
- Conduct 30-50 training sessions for farmers during the first year. All related costs including hall rent, food for farmers, stay and travel costs of trainers, etc are to be borne by the applicant.
- The applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Farmers' app. All costs are to the applicant's account.
- Send reminders or notification to farmers on need basis. Notifications can be as SMS messages to farmer' phones or as message into the mobile app.
- The App provides facility for farmers to seek support through the mobile App. The applicant should respond to the farmers within 24 hours with appropriate advices.
Tentative Schedule:
Release of Expression of Interest: 12-May-2018
Last Date of Submission: 12 - June -2018
Scope:
Interested parties can express interest for taking up the project in their home country only.
Conditions:
This EOI is not an offer and is issued with no commitment. IPC reserves the right to withdraw the EOI and change or vary any part thereof at any stage. IPC also reserves the right to disqualify any bidder, should it be so necessary at any stage. IPC reserves the right to withdraw this EOI if IPC determines that such an action is required.
IPC's decision with regard to the short-listing of bidders through this EOI shall be final and IPC reserves the right to reject any or all the bids without assigning any reason.
