The 47th Annual Sessions and Meetings of the IPC, 12-14 November 2019, Vung Tau City Viet Nam

Pullman Hotel Vung Tau, Vung Tau City, Viet Nam was chosen to be the venue for the 47th Annual Sessions and Meetings of the IPC alongside of the International Pepper Conference 2019 during 12-14 November 2019. This year International Pepper Conference was organized jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam, Vietnam Pepper Association and International Pepper Community. The theme for this year conference was "Pepper in the Next Decade". This annual IPC conference was officiated and opened by H.E. Le Quoc Doanh, Vice Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam.

Over 400 participants consisting of experts, scientists, officials, pepper growers/ producers' association and trade representatives from the IPC member countries as well as representatives of other pepper producing and consuming countries attended this annual session including international speakers like Eurofins, Fuchs Group, Griffith Foods, McCormick, Namagro, Nedspice Group, Olam International and etc.



Furthermore, International Pepper Exhibition was also held at the sideline of the International Pepper Conference 2019 and was attended by 20 renowned names in pepper and spices industry such as Tema Process, Namagro, Natura Perisha Olam, Pearl Corporation, Simexco Kreyenborg GMBH & Co, Ventilex and many other. The International Pepper Exhibition was also opened by H.E. Le Quoc Doanh, Vice Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam This trade fair gathered leading exporters, processors and manufacturers of pepper and spice products mainly from the host country, Vietnam and other IPC member countries of India, Indonesia, Malaysia Sri Lanka as well as interested companies dealing with the production and processing of pepper and spice products of pepper producing and consuming countries.
During the 47th Annuals Sessions and Meetings of the IPC a series of important, engaging and informative functions were held:

10th Business Session of IPC; This year Business Session focused more on traceability and sustainability of pepper as well as challenge and opportunities and drivers for demand and supply of pepper.

44th Pepper Tech Meeting; During this year Pepper Tech Meeting elaboration on technical research on level of stress of black pepper and responsibly sustainable growing of pepper as well as regulation and testing capacity were intently discussed.

27th Pepper Exim Meeting; During the Pepper Exim, representatives from IPC member countries as well as industry view on Brazil, Cambodia and China shared their updates on the statistical information on pepper cultivation in their respective countries.

The 47th Plenary Session of the IPC; The Executive Director of IPC, Mrs. Hoang Thi Lien released the Pepper Global Scenario and Visual Data Analytics 2018 - 2020 in conclusion of the Plenary Session.

Furthermore, at the end of the Conference a field trip to pepper farm at Ba Ria - Vung Tau pepper plantation and Bau May Pepper farm was held on 15 November 2019.
