Behind every berry of pepper lies a story of patience, guided by hands that endure the sun and rain, and minds that never stop seeking better ways to grow, trade, and innovate. This spirit is what the International Pepper Community (IPC) honors through the IPC Best Award 2024, presented during the 53rd IPC Annual Session and Meetings in Kochi, India.
This year’s recognition celebrates the outstanding individuals and enterprises whose dedication has elevated the global pepper industry to new heights. From the fields to laboratories and from local trade to global innovation, each name reflects passion, creativity, and courage.

The Best Pepper Farmers 2024 are Shri Y.N. Krishna Kumar from India, Mr. Alfeddy Hernandy from Indonesia, Mr. Umtam Anak Jelau from Malaysia, Mr. Y.G. Layanal Bandara from Sri Lanka, and Mr. Mai Duc Diep from Viet Nam. Their resilience turns cultivation into art.
For Best Exporters of Value-Added Pepper Products, Synthite Industries Pvt. Ltd. from India, PT. Natura Perisa Aroma from Indonesia, Nguong Aik Sdn. Bhd. from Malaysia, and Simexco Dak Lak from Viet Nam were recognized for bringing pepper to new frontiers of value and excellence.

Presented by Madam Adv. Sangeetha Viswanathan, Chairperson of the Spices Board, Government of India, the ceremony celebrated both achievement and the unity of nations bound by the world’s most timeless spice.
Since 2011, the IPC Best Award has symbolized excellence and shared purpose, reminding us that pepper is more than a commodity. It is a story that continues to flavor the world.
