ASTA ANNUAL MEETING AND EXHIBITS 2013
The American Spice Trade Association (ASTA) will be holding the 2013 Annual Meeting and Exhibits at Ritz Carlton, Palm Beach, FL, USA from April 28th to 1st May 2013.
The 2013 ASTA Annual Meeting and Exhibits will among other features the paper presentation and discussion by the international speakers including
Mr. Make Taylor of FDA Office of Food and Veterinary Medicines who will give keynote address on Implementation of the U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act: Building a Partnership for Prevention;
Mr. Dennis Dimick of National Geographic Magazine to talk on Man-Made World: Stewardship in Anthropocene;
Mr. Gerald Nelson of International Food Policy Research Institute on Confronting the Food Security Threats from Climate Change
Mr. Mutassem Mazhar of Giza Seeds & Herbs S.A.E. and Mrs. Sushama Srikandath of AVT McCormick Ingredients, Pvt., Ltd will talk on The Spice Industry Feels the Impact of the Changing World; and
Ms. Julia Gallo-Torres of Mintel to talk on How Foodservice Channels Can Spark Demand
Other speakers who will discuss on the Changing Regulations Worldwide and the Challenges Faced by Suppliers, includes Mr. Alfons van Gulick, European Spice Association, Mr. Gaspare Colletti, Canadian Spice Association, Mr. Roger Clarke, American Spice Trade Association, Mr. Rao Gridhar, Griffith Laboratories etc.
The ASTA meeting will also cover presentation of crop reports of different spices based on trade assessment such as on Red Pepper (Capsicums and Paprika); Garlic and Onion and Black Pepper by the international trade representatives
The ASTA Annual Business Meeting, which is open only for the ASTA members, is aimed at providing members with an opportunity to learn about the accomplishments of the past year and learn about plans for the future.
