Forging Common Purpose: Beijing Conversation for a Stronger Pepper Future

In Chongqing, the dialogue began. In Beijing, the vision took shape..
On 10 November 2025, the International Pepper Community continued its diplomatic mission through two meaningful engagements with the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

In the morning, the Executive Director, Mrs. Marina Novira Anggraini, together with the IPC team, was welcomed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The discussion opened promising pathways in agricultural R&D, laboratory cooperation, sustainable and residue-free pepper production, and the advancement of digital and agri-tech innovation.
Later that afternoon, the mission progressed with the Ministry of Commerce. Conversations highlighted trade and market development, value-added pepper industries, deeper connectivity with the China Spices Association, and strengthened supply-chain collaboration.
Across both meetings, one theme resonated strongly: a united voice among pepper-producing countries is essential for a resilient, future-ready, and globally competitive pepper industry.
IPC also extended an invitation for China to consider joining the Community, standing alongside India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Viet Nam, in shaping a stronger and more connected pepper world.
Beijing reminded us of one truth: shared purpose moves industries, and shared vision reshapes the future.
And behind every step of this mission, there were helping hands and warm hearts. IPC conveys its deepest appreciation to H.E. Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun @djauharioratmangun and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Beijing @kbribeijing for their steadfast support and thoughtful facilitation throughout the journey. IPC also extends heartfelt gratitude to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China @chinaembassy_indonesia in Jakarta, whose gracious coordination and unwavering support helped open doors and strengthen every conversation. Together, their commitments quietly but powerfully elevated IPC’s mission and made this progress possible.
