MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


Market this week showed a mixed response with only Sri Lanka local pepper price continued
to be reported with an increase.
Indian pepper price reported with a decreasing trend this week.
Pepper price for Indonesia responded negative this week which could be
contributed to the weakening of Indonesian Rupiah against the US Dollar (IDR 14,986 @ 1 USD),
recording 1% depreciation as pepper remained scarce on farmer level.
Both local and international price for Malaysia remained stable and unchanged.
Local price for Sri Lanka pepper responded positive for the last two (2) weeks
as the financial crisis continues with the country's inflation rate estimated to reach 60%.
As Viet Nam Dong weakened against the US Dollar (VND 23,400 @ 1 USD),
recorded 1% depreciation, pepper price for Viet Nam responded negative this week.
