MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The global pepper market exhibited mixed trends this week, coinciding with the celebration of Eid Al-Adha by Muslim communities. Additionally, the US market has been notably sluggish over the past four weeks, amid price uncertainty caused by trade tensions and weak demand, compounded by a 125% surge in freight rates, which continues to hamper business activity.
Both local and international prices for Indian pepper were reported to have declined compared to last week.
Both local and international prices for Indonesian pepper were reported to be stable this week, due to lower stock availability in the market.
Both local and the international price of Malaysian pepper remained stable this week.
The local price of Sri Lankan pepper showed a declining trend for the second consecutive week.
Both local and international prices for Vietnamese pepper were reported to have declined since last week, as the industry awaits final tariff decisions from the United States.

The price of Brazilian black pepper continued its downward trend for the third consecutive week. Meanwhile, prices of Cambodian black pepper and Chinese white pepper remained stable and unchanged.
Pepper Export by The United States of America (2023–2025) recorded a total of 1,993 Mt as of March 2025, with Canada as the top purchaser (1,138 Mt), followed by Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Barbados.
