In the third week of January, the global pepper market displayed mixed price movements across major producing origins. Meanwhile, US market prices have remained broadly stable since the start of 2026. There has been no notable selling pressure from origin countries; however, market activity has seen resellers offering at comparatively lower price levels. |

| In India, both domestic and international prices of Indian pepper remained steady, reflecting a balanced and stable market sentiment. | |
|
|
|
| In Indonesia, black pepper prices recorded a modest downward adjustment, while white pepper prices remained stable throughout the week, supported by relatively steady exchange rate conditions. | |
|
|
|
| Malaysia's domestic and international pepper prices showed no significant movement during the third week of 2026, indicating continued price stability. | |
|
|
|
| Domestic pepper prices in Sri Lanka also remained largely unchanged for the second consecutive week. | |
|
|
|
| In Viet Nam, domestic pepper prices experienced a mild downward adjustment during the week, while international price indicators remained broadly stable. | |
|
|
|
| During the same period, Brazilian black pepper prices weakened, whereas Cambodian black pepper and Chinese white pepper prices remained generally stable. | |
|
|
|
| From a trade standpoint, Japan's pepper imports reached a cumulative volume of 8,518 metric tonnes over the January - November 2025 period. Viet Nam maintained its position as the principal source, supplying 3,236 metric tonnes, while Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and China followed as key secondary suppliers. | |
