Due to Eid Festival, the market in Indonesia was very quiet. Long holiday in anticipation of the great festival has begun from Monday 11th June. Consequently, almost no trading activity was reported during the week under review. Similar situation also occurred in Malaysia. Moslem community in India and Sri Lanka also celebrated the Festival. Price in Sri Lanka and India was reported unchanged. In Sri Lanka, local price prevailed in main growing areas increased by 2% from LKR 591 to LKR 602 per Kg while in India the price decreased to INR 357 from INR 361 per Kg at the last week's close. In Viet Nam, trading activities was reported limited and local price was stable. A marginal decrease of VND 1,000 per Kg took place for local price of black pepper in HCMC from VND 57,500 to VND 56,600 per Kg at the week's close.
