BLACK PEPPER: The market showed a mixed response with limited activities during the week mainly due to the the X-mas and end-year holiday atmosphere which is coming closer and closer. In Lampung and Sri Lanka, the price has increased due to limited available stocks. In India and Vietnam the price decreased as the upcoming crop in these origins is nearing to begin. Fob price in Vietnam however was reported stable. In Sarawak price was also reported to be stable. There was very limited trading activity reported in Brazil in view of the long holiday festival.
WHITE PEPPER: In Bangka, the price increased marginally both in local as well as fob price; while in Sarawak and Vietnam, the local price decreased by 1%, but fob price remained stable as last week.
