MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The pepper market in the first week of October showed a mix response.
Both local and international price for Indian pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week.
As the Indonesian Rupiah weakened against the US Dollar (IDR 15,297 @ 1 USD) or 1% depreciation,
both local and international prices for Indonesian pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week.
Only local price for Malaysian pepper reported stable this week.
Whilst, the international price for Malaysian pepper reported with increasing trend this week.
As the Sri Lankan Rupee strengthened against the US Dollar (LKR 296.51 @ 1 USD) or 2% appreciation,
the local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported with an increasing trend this week.
The local price for Vietnamese pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend since last week.
Whilst, international price for Vietnamese pepper also continued to be reported stable and unchanged.

Brazilian black pepper as well as Cambodian black pepper remained stable and unchanged.
Furthermore, Chinese market closed this week during Golden Week Public Holiday.
Export of Pepper by Austria (2022 - 2024).
