MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


In the third week of October, the global pepper market continued to exhibit mixed trends across producing and consuming countries.
Despite a depreciation of the Indian Rupee against the US Dollar (INR 88.51/USD, down by 1%), both domestic and international prices of Indian pepper registered upward adjustments for two consecutive weeks.
Both domestic and international prices of Indonesian pepper remained stable during the week.
Only domestic price of Malaysian pepper recorded a downward movement this week, while international prices of Malaysian pepper remained stable with no significant changes.
Domestic pepper prices in Sri Lanka remained steady throughout the week.
Domestic prices of Vietnamese pepper experienced an upward adjustment, while international prices declined slightly during the same period.

Brazilian pepper prices continued to decline for the fourth consecutive week. Meanwhile, prices of Cambodian black pepper and Chinese white pepper remained stable and unchanged.
Between 2023 and June 2025, Austria exported a cumulative total of 862 metric tons (MT) of pepper. Russia emerged as the leading importer with 239 MT, followed by Germany, Poland, Italy, and Hungary.
