In view of Lebaran Festival which is coming soon and in addition to the current lower crop situation in Indonesia, activities at domestic markets were inactive, but prices were reported increase further to cross IDR 101,000 per kg for black in Lampung. In Bangka white pepper price touched IDR 140,000 per kg at the beginning of the week and closed at IDR 137,000 at the week-s close. In dollar terms Lampung black increased by 3% and for white pepper increased by 4%. At other source pepper price also increased up to 5%. In Vietnam the price continued to firm and increased almost daily. Stocks here are very tight and limited materials are held at strong hand. In Brazil, the market still weak, despite the harvest has begun. In the short term, Brazil is having capacity to play important role to fill demand, particularly from the United States. In India, Sarawak and Sri Lanka, the prices increased marginally by 1%.
