MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS

The pepper market this week continued to show mixed response as Christianity celebrated Holy week.
Even though the Indian Rupee strengthened against the US Dollar (INR 85.70 @ 1 USD) or 1% appreciation, both local and international price for Indian pepper reported stable this week.
Both local and international price for Indonesian pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week as less stock reported in North Lampung Province.
Only Malaysian local white pepper reported stable this week. Whilst, the others continued to be reported with a decreasing trend since last week.
After reported with an increasing trend for the last seven (7) weeks, the local price for Sri Lankan pepper stable this week.
Local price for Vietnamese pepper reported with an increasing trend this week. Whilst, International price for Vietnamese 500 g/l black pepper as well as white pepper reported stable. Furthermore, International price for Vietnamese 550 g/l black pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week.

Only Brazilian black pepper reported with an increasing trend this week. Whilst, the Cambodian black pepper as well as Chinese white pepper continued to be reported stable and unchanged.
