Pepper prices in almost all origins were relatively stable. In dollar terms however, marginal decreases were recorded, due to weakening of local currency against US Dollar. In Vietnam local price of black Pepper increased from VND 180,000/Kg at the beginning of the week to VND 186,000/Kg at the weekÔÇÖs close. On average however, the price was relatively stable. Local price of white Pepper, in Vietnam also increased by around 4%. In China, the price of white Pepper also increased marginally by 1%.

EXPORT OF PEPPER FROM BRAZIL:
During August 2015, Brazil exported 1,984 Mt of Pepper valued at USD 19.6 million, recording a marginal higher quantity when compared with the export of 1,902 Mt in August 2014. In terms of value, an increase of 13% was recorded. Export in August has also shown an increase from exports in previous months. During January - August 2015 export of Pepper from Brazil totaled at 17,796 Mt valued at US$ 166.1 million. Total export in the first eight month also increased from 16,264 Mt worth US$ 127.9 million during the same corresponding period of last year. Germany and the United States were the main destination for Brazilian Pepper, absorbing 65% (33% Germany and 32% USA) of total Pepper exported from Brazil in Jan-Aug 2015. Spain, France, Mexico and Argentina also imported significant quantity of Pepper from Brazil.
