MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The pepper market in the first week of February showed a mixed response with only Malaysian local white pepper reported with a decease.
Even though the Indian Rupee weakened against the US Dollar (INR 87.25 @ 1 USD) or 1% depreciation, both local and international price for Indian pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend for the last three (3) weeks.
Both local and international price for Indonesian pepper reported with an increasing trend this week as less stock reported in the market.
Only Malaysian local white pepper reported with a deceasing trend this week. Whilst, the others reported stable.
The local price for Sri Lankan pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend since the beginning of this year as Sri Lankan celebrated its 77th National Day this week.
Only Vietnamese international black 550 g/l and white pepper reported stable this week. Whilst, the others reported with an increasing trend. According to Dak Nong Television, Dak Nong farmers were currently preparing to enter the pepper harvest season. Compared to the same period in 2024, this year pepper prices showed many positive signs, helping people to be more excited and expecting a bumper crop.

Brazilian black pepper reported with an increasing trend this week. Furthermore, Cambodian black pepper as well as Chinese white pepper reported stable this week as China’s markets resumed after Chinese New Year Holiday.
