Pepper price at origins has further increased in a small range. In India and Sarawak, the price increased by around 2%, while in Indonesia and Sri Lanka the prices were relatively stable. Tight stock at origins and strong overseas demand has contributed to the increase. Under this situation, the price is expected to remain high without significant changes till the next harvest takes place in early 2014.

Some sources reported that production of pepper in India will be better, while in Vietnam is estimated to be lower. Those information will be discussed in detail in up coming IPC Session to be held on 27 -30 October 2014, in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.
