MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The pepper market this week showed a mix response.
Both local and international price for Indian pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week.
Both local and international price for Indonesian pepper reported with an increasing trend this week which partially contributed
to the strengthening of Indonesian Rupiah against the US Dollar (IDR 16,231 @ 1 USD) or 1% appreciation.
Only Malaysian local white pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend for the last two (2) weeks.
Whilst, the others reported stable and unchanged.
After reported with an increasing trend for the last two (2) weeks, the local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported stable this week.
Only local Vietnamese pepper price continued to be reported with an increasing trend since last week.
Whilst, the international price reported with a decreasing trend.

Brazilian black pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend over the past month.
Furthermore, both Chinese white pepper and Cambodian black pepper continued to be reported stable and unchanged.
The pepper market in the US in the last two weeks reported with rapid fluctuations as several experts in Indonesia
and Brazil assessed that the 2024 season affected by a prolonged drought thus production expected to be the lowest in years,
with a decrease in harvest in 2024.
