MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The global pepper market opened in December with varied yet steady movements. The U.S. market reported firmer interest for several origins, while buyers in other regions proceeded with measured purchasing as earlier commitments had already been secured.
Domestic and international prices reflected a moderate adjustment for the second consecutive week, accompanied by a 1% movement in the Indian Rupee (INR 89.88/USD).
Following two weeks of stability, domestic and international prices showed a gentle easing in early December, aligning with broader market dynamics.
Domestic prices remained consistent, while international prices carried a mild softening trend as the month began.
The domestic market continued to demonstrate stability, supported by steady local demand and smooth supply conditions.
Domestic prices held firm throughout the week, while international prices recorded a positive upward movement.

Prices for Brazilian black pepper, Cambodian black pepper, and Chinese white pepper remained generally steady at the beginning of December.
Between January and September 2025, Hong Kong recorded pepper exports totaling 121 MT. Viet Nam remained the primary supplier (56 MT), followed by Macao, the United States of America, Canada, and China.
