BLACK PEPPER: The market watched on the developments in Vietnam, the main supplier which is now in harvesting season. In HCMC, the market was active and local price of black pepper increased almost daily, from VND 118,500 per kg at the beginning of the week to VND 119,500 on Tuesday and increased further to VND 120,500 on Thursday. Fob prices of Vietnamese black pepper were reported stable. In India, the market was calm. Spot and fob prices were stable, but futures prices were reported increase up to 4%. In Lampung and Sarawak, prices were stable as last week; while in Sri Lanka a decrease of 3% were reported.

WHITE PEPPER: In Bangka, prices decreased by 3% locally and 1% fob; while in Vietnam the price of white pepper increased from VND 183,500 per kg to VND 185,500 on Thursday. In Sarawak white pepper prices were reported stable.
