EXPORT OF PEPPER FROM BRAZIL:
During September 2012, Brazil exported 2,790 mt of pepper valued at USD 17.3 million as against 4,551 mt valued at USD29.3 million exported in September 2011, registering a decrease of 39% in quantity and 41% in value. During January - September 2012, total export of pepper from Brazil was 18,515 mt worth USD 124.9 million. When compared to exports in the same period last year, there was a decrease of 10% in quantity, but increase in value by 12%. The decrease in export reflected the available stock in Brazil was limited. Some sources were reported that production in Brazil this year would be lower. Smaller crop in June/July in Espirito Santo has already confirmed the decrease and output of pepper crop in Para, Brazil is also anticipated lower.
