MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS

The pepper market in the last week of 2024 continued to show mixed response as Christians around the world celebrated Christmas this week.
Both local and international price for Indian pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend since last week.
Indonesian black pepper price reported with an increasing trend this week. Whilst, Indonesian white pepper reported stable as some middlemen started looking for pepper from the farmers.
The local price for Malaysian pepper reported stable this week. Whilst, the international price for Malaysian pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend for the last two (2) weeks.
After reported stable for the last two (2) weeks, the local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week which partially contributed to the weakening of Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar (LKR 294.90 @ 1 USD) or 1% depreciation.
The local price for Vietnamese pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week. Whilst, the international price for Vietnamese pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend since last week.

Brazilian black pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week. Furthermore, Chinese white pepper as well as Cambodian black pepper remained stable and unchanged.
