MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The global pepper market exhibited a downward trends during the week.
Both local and international prices of Indian pepper declined throughout the week. This was partly attributed to the 1% depreciation of the Indian Rupee, which stood at INR 86.37 per US Dollar.
Local and international prices of Indonesian pepper remained stable throughout the week.
The local and international prices of Malaysian pepper remained stable throughout the week.
For the third consecutive week, local price of Sri Lankan pepper continued to decline.
Local and international prices of Vietnamese pepper declined for the fourth consecutive week. This decline was driven by reduced demand from the Middle East, the USA, and China, as well as increased global stock levels.

Prices of Brazilian black pepper, Cambodian black pepper, and Chinese white pepper showed a downward trend. The decline in Brazilian pepper prices may also be attributed to recent reports indicating higher yield expectations for this year.
Belgium’s pepper exports from 2023 to February 2025 totaled 150 metric tons. France was the largest importer (67 Mt), followed by the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Spain, and Germany.
