MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS

The global pepper market displayed mixed trends this week, with only Sri Lanka\'s local black pepper prices showing an upward trajectory.
Both domestic and international prices of Indian pepper experienced a downward adjustment, partly due to the depreciation of the Indian Rupee against the US Dollar (INR 87.00/USD, down by 1%).
Local and international prices of Indonesian pepper declined for the second consecutive week, attributed in part to a 1% depreciation of the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR 16,416/USD). Additionally, some farmers in Lampung Province are currently in the harvest season.
Domestic and international prices of Malaysian pepper remained steady with no notable changes.
Local pepper prices in Sri Lanka recorded an upward trend during the week, marking the only reported increase among major producing countries.
Vietnamese local pepper prices stabilized over the week, while international prices continued to register a gradual downward adjustment.

Prices of Brazilian black pepper, Cambodian black pepper, and Chinese white pepper remained stable with no significant changes.
Between 2023 and April 2025, Poland exported a total of 1,075 metric tons of pepper. France emerged as the leading importer (330 metric tons), followed by the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, and Serbia.
