MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


In the third week of September, the global pepper market continued to exhibit mixed trends. Furthermore, the US market has remained steady over the past two weeks, with trading activity observed to be limited.
Both domestic and international prices of Indian pepper declined for the second consecutive week.
Both domestic and international prices of Indonesian pepper remained stable this week.
Only domestic price of Malaysian black pepper recorded an upward adjustments since last week, while the others remained stable with no significant changes.
After three consecutive weeks of stability, local pepper prices in Sri Lanka entered a downward trajectory.
Domestic prices of Vietnamese pepper reflected a declining trend, whereas international prices of Vietnamese black pepper registered an upward movement. Prices of Vietnamese white pepper in the international market, however, remained unchanged.

Prices of Brazilian pepper strengthened during the week. Meanwhile, Cambodian black pepper and Chinese white pepper prices remained stable without notable variation.
Between 2023 and May 2025, Romania imported a total of 1,074 metric tons (MT) of pepper. Germany was the largest supplier with 300 MT, followed by Brazil, Viet Nam, Latvia, and Poland.
