During the third week of February, the global pepper market reflected differentiated price movements across major producing countries. The period also coincided with the celebration of the Chinese New Year, which influenced overall trading activity and market sentiment.
India pepper prices, both domestic and international, remained steady, pointing to balanced supply-demand conditions and stable market confidence.
Indonesia recorded a modest upward adjustment in black pepper prices, while white pepper prices remained stable throughout the week. This stability was supported by relatively steady exchange rate conditions.
Accross Malaysia, domestic white pepper prices maintained a positive performance, whereas other pepper varieties showed no significant movement.
Sri Lanka continued its upward trajectory in domestic pepper prices for the third consecutive week, indicating sustained demand strength in the local market.
In Viet Nam, both domestic and export pepper prices remained unchanged for the third straight week, underscoring a stable trading environment.
Brazil experienced firmer black pepper prices over the course of the week. By contrast, price levels for black pepper in Cambodia and white pepper in China exhibited no notable variation.
For the 2025 period, Indonesia exported 35,209 metric tonnes of pepper. Viet Nam maintained its position as the primary destination, absorbing 7,356 metric tonnes, followed by the United States, China, India, and France.
