Due to Lebaran Festival, the market was quiet during the week under review in Indonesia and Malaysia. Trading activities was very limited, particularly in Lampung and sarawak. Pepper farmers and local traders at these two sources were taking long vacation for celebrating Eidl Fitri. Although farmers needs cash, in view of less output of this year harvest, pepper price in Lampung and Bangka remained high and also registered a slight increase in price. Local price of black pepper in Vietnam also increased by 2%, while in Sarawak the price decreased marginally. In Vietnam and Sarawak white pepper prices were relatively stable, both in local as well as fob price.
