MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


As Moslems around the world will be celebrating the Eid Fitr Mubarak 1443 H in the next few days, market this week
showed a mixed response with only Sri Lanka local price recorded an increase.
Indian pepper price reported stable this week.
Both local and international prices for Indonesia responded negatively this week due to the weakening of the Indonesian Rupiah
against the US Dollar (IDR 14,441 @ 1 USD), recorded 1% depreciation.
Malaysia local price remained lower this week due to the weakening of the Malaysian Ringgit against the US Dollar (MYR 4.35 @ 1 USD),
recorded 2% depreciation. Whilst, Malaysia international price continued to be reported stable since the beginning of March.
Even though Sri Lankan Rupee continued to be weakened against the US Dollar (LKR 339.37 @ 1 USD),
recorded 6% depreciation compared to last week and 41% depreciation compared to January 2022,
local price for Sri Lanka responded with a significant increase this week.
Only Viet Nam black pepper local price responded negatively this week. Whilst,
the rest continued to be reported stable for the last three weeks.
