MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS

The pepper market this week continued to show a mix response.
Both local and international price for Indian pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend for the last three (3) weeks.
As the Indonesian Rupiah strengthened against the US Dollar (IDR 15,531 @ 1 USD) or 1% appreciation, both local and international prices for Indonesian pepper reported with an increasing trend this week.
Only Malaysian local white pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend since last week. Whilst, the Malaysian local black pepper and international price for Malaysian white pepper reported stable. Furthermore, the international price for Malaysian black pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week.
After reported with an increasing trend for the last two (2) weeks, the local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week.
Only Vietnamese local white pepper reported stable this week. Whilst, the others continued to be reported with a decreasing trend since last week.

Brazilian black pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week which partially contributed to the weakening of the the Brazilian Real against the US Dollar (BRL 5.65 @ 1 USD) or 2% depreciation. Furthermore, Cambodian black pepper as well as Chinese white pepper remained stable and unchanged.
