MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The pepper market in the second week of February showed a mixed response with only Indian pepper reported with a decrease.
After reported with an increasing trend for the last three (3) weeks, both local and international price for Indian pepper reported with a decreasing trend this week.
Only Indonesian white pepper price continued to be reported with an increasing trend since last week. Whilst, Indonesian black pepper reported with a decreasing trend.
Local price for Malaysian pepper reported with an increasing trend this week. Whilst, international price for Malaysian pepper reported stable and unchanged.
After reported with an increasing trend for the last four (4) weeks, the local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported stable this week.
Only Vietnamese international black 550 g/l and white pepper remained stable this week. Whilst, the others reported with an increasing trend. According to Dak Nong Newspaper, Dak Nong farmers were currently focusing on harvesting pepper. Most of them were excited because the pepper price was high which had motivated them to continue investing in and taking care of their pepper gardens, improving product quality.

Brazilian black pepper continued to be reported with an increasing trend since last week. Furthermore, Cambodian black pepper as well as Chinese white pepper remained stable and unchanged.
