MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The global pepper market continued to show mixed trends during the second week of September.
Both domestic and international prices of Indian pepper declined further.
Domestic and international prices of Indonesian pepper remained stable, as the majority of farmers in Belitung Regency completed their harvest season.
In Malaysia, only the domestic price of black pepper recorded an upward adjustment, while white pepper prices declined. International prices of Malaysian pepper remained stable without significant changes.
Local pepper prices in Sri Lanka have remained steady for the three consecutive weeks.
Domestic prices of Vietnamese pepper declined, whereas international prices showed an upward movement.

Prices of Brazilian pepper weakened, while Cambodian black pepper and Chinese white pepper remained stable.
Between 2023 and May 2025, Belgium imported a total of 660 metric tons (MT) of pepper. The Netherlands was the leading supplier with 201 MT, followed by Germany, Viet Nam, Spain, and Madagascar.
