Domestic market of producing countries showed a mixed response during this week. Trading was limited in view of holiday mood has increased. Local price of black pepper in Vietnam decreased marginally by 1%, but fob price increased 4%. In Lampung, price increased by 2%; while prices in Sarawak and Sri were stable as last week. White pepper price in Vietnam and Bangka increased, while in Hainan decreased. Stable prices were reported in Sarawak.

IMPORT OF PEPPER BY FRANCE:
France imports pepper around 9,000 Mt annually. In 2014 import of France increased to 9,560 Mt from 8,700 Mt in 2013. In 2015, import of France is estimated more or less same at the level of imported in 2014. An indication is shown by total pepper imported into France during the first three quarter of the year. During January - September 2015, import of France totaled at the level of 7,685 Mt (5,565 Mt of whole and 2,120 Mt of ground pepper). As against 7,525 Mt (5,253 Mt of whole and 2,272 Mt of ground pepper) imported in the same period last year, a marginal increase of 2% was recorded. Import of whole pepper increased, but decreased for ground pepper. Vietnam remained the most important source of whole pepper for France during 2015; while for ground pepper was mainly from Germany.
