Prices of black and white pepper showed a mixed performance during the week. Prices in Vietnam and Sri Lanka indicated a drop while a stability in India and increase in Indonesia and Malaysia. While the price of white pepper in Vietnam showing a decrease, Indonesia and Malaysia indicated a slight increase.
FOB prices of both black and white pepper were stable but a slight increase on black pepper FOB prices from Indonesia was reported.
Prices from Europe and USA markets were not available due to yearend holidays coupled with Christmas.
Prevailing rainy season in Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka may badly affects on pepper crop as small farmer may not be able to dry their crop and spike fall also may occur due to heavy rains.
