MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The market this week continued showing a mixed response with only Malaysia local price reported with an increase.
Indian pepper price responded negative this week.
Pepper prices for Indonesia reported with a decreasing trend this week as less export due to lack of stock.
Malaysian local price reported with an increasing trend this week
which partially contributed to the strengthening of the Malaysian Ringgit against the US Dollar (MYR 4.57 @ 1 USD),
recording a 3% appreciation. Whilst, Malaysia international price remained stable and unchanged.
After reported stable for the last two (2) weeks, local price for Sri Lankan pepper responded negative this week.
Viet Nam local price reported stable this week.
Whilst, Viet Nam international price reported with a decreasing trend.
The US Market prices reported with less buying activity than normal year.
Higher banks’ rates made the market move slowly.
Furthermore, Muntok white pepper was reported at USD 6,000 CF for December/January 2023.
Import of Pepper by Belgium (2020 - 2022).
