MARKET REPORT - KEY HIGHLIGHTS


The pepper market this week showed a rather negative outlook with no origins reported with an increase.
Both local and international price for Indian pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend for a month.
Both local and international prices for Indonesian pepper reported stable this week.
As the Malaysian Ringgit weakened against the US Dollar (MYR 4.33 @ 1 USD) or 1% depreciation, both local and international price for Malaysian pepper reported a decreasing trend this week.
The local price for Sri Lankan pepper reported stable this week.
Vietnamese black pepper reported stable this week. Whilst, Vietnamese white pepper reported with a decreasing trend. According to the VPSA, currently pepper gardens in Ba Ria, Vung Tau were in the fruit growing stage to prepare for the harvest around mid-January 2025.

Brazilian black pepper continued to be reported with a decreasing trend since last week which partially contributed to the weakening of the the Brazilian Real against the US Dollar (BRL 5.71 @ 1 USD) or 1% depreciation. Furthermore, Cambodian black pepper as well as Chinese white pepper remained stable and unchanged.
After reported with a decreasing trend in the past three (3) weeks, the US pepper market remained stable with limited activity.
