During the second week of February, the global pepper market showed generally firm dynamics, with price movements varying across key producing countries yet reflecting overall resilience. |
|
|
|
| India continued to register upward momentum, as pepper prices in both domestic and export markets advanced for the second consecutive week. The stable exchange rate environment provided additional support to market confidence. | |
|
|
|
| Indonesia recorded a week-on-week increase in black pepper prices, while white pepper prices held steady throughout the reporting period, suggesting balanced supply-demand conditions. | |
|
|
|
| Accross Malaysia price performance remained positive in both domestic and international markets. Market sentiment was reinforced by the nearly 1 percent appreciation of the Malaysian Ringgit, which averaged MYR 3.92 per USD during the same timeframe. | |
|
|
|
| Sri Lanka has sustained a rising trend in domestic pepper prices since the beginning of February, indicating consistent demand strength. | |
|
|
|
| Viet Nam reported softer domestic white pepper prices during the week; however, other pepper varieties remained unchanged for the second consecutive week, reflecting relative market stability. | |
|
|
|
| Brazil experienced some moderation in black pepper prices over the course of the week. Meanwhile, price levels for black pepper in Cambodia and white pepper in China remained largely stable, with no significant variation observed. | |
|
|
|
| From January to November 2025, Malaysia exported 3,969 metric tonnes of pepper. Japan maintained its position as the primary destination, absorbing 1,960 metric tonnes, followed by Singapore, Viet Nam, South Korea, and Thailand. | |
